Reading the Foundation of life

Posted by on February 21, 2011

I have seen the world through the eyes of many great poets, writers and philosopher. This is what I discovered this world, explore new things and started enjoying the life. I developed the habit of reading books and slowly I found that it changed my own thinking and started perceiving more and more. This has given me a chance of peeping inside myself and trying to understand the world and my own self.

Books are like fountain. It is always giving us something which can add meaning to life. I am not able to put it down exactly in words but I can assure you that reading books has opened the doors of knowledge and information. It has been a long journey to travel along with the writer, to dance along with the poet, to fly, to touch, to feel, to watch the beauty. This is only possible when we read. The modern technology has put in our lap the gift of computers and technology but I feel that what a human being can feel that computer cannot. So while reading I feel that as if I myself is writing and expressing my thoughts and emotions.

I participated in the reading programme conducted by the Govt. Of Gujarat “Vanche Gujarat”. This was an effort to develop the habit of reading among the young generation. I am really very fortunate that my school gave me the platform of reading. Our school Shree Gattu Vidyalaya is organizing Book fair since last 14 years. So I got the opportunity to go through the books and at the same time getting a chance of book review being organised for the students.

I want to share that reading habit have changed my personality. Today I feel that books are my intimate friends. I am always close to the great personalities when I read the books of legendary. I am secured and matured when I read the books like “Chicken soup” series. I like to read Sudha Murty as her experiences are full of messages and its a wonderful journey along with her through out India. I would like to ask my all friends to come and join this world of books which is eternal.
